Pregnancy Update:-3 Weeks Left

It’s been quite a while since I have posted anything, there is a reason for this. I decided that with everything that was going on with the pregnancy, and with Logan so unsettled I needed to take a break from everything. To just have some time.

So you may have read in my last post that I had been in and out of hospital with Grade 4 placenta Praevia. In total I had 5 admissions to hospital as a result. I had to wait until I was 32 weeks for a placenta and growth scan.

After the last admission everything had settled down and I was feeling positive.

The 32 Week Scan….

We went for the 32 week scan and the results where not as I/we expected. For a start we were told straight away that the placenta had moved completely out of the way. It was no longer an issue. This was amazing news.

However they went to check the little lady’s Kidneys again. (you may remember me saying that one of her kidney’s was measuring at 9mm instead of 7mm) Well the scan showed that both the kidneys were now enlarged and measuring 15mm instead of 7mm. Now because they are over 10 mm, when she is born she will have to be referred to pediatrics. They think they know what might be causing the enlarged kidney’s but until they scan her at birth they won’t know.

What Did The Consultant Say…

We met with the consultant after the scan to discuss the results and see where we go from here. I am really pleased that he is going to allow me to try for a VBAC, he did say that due to previous C-section and size of the little lady that he won’t let me try for long but I can try. He doesn’t want prolonged stress on my scar. He has also booked me in for another growth scan on the 13th Dec (due date 17th Dec) to check the baby’s size and her kidney’s to make sure they are still happy for me to go ahead and try for a VBAC, so fingers crossed.

How The Rest Of The Pregnancy is Going….

I look massive for a start. I also have Carpel Tunnel in both my wrists/hands so am having to wear splints at night while I sleep to help with the symptoms. I still get pins and needles during the night but it is far less. It has also helped to cut the pain that I suffer from it. Someday’s my fingers are so stiff they feel arthritic. Most days they are also constantly tingling and semi numb. But I’m told it should disappear once the little lady is born.  I have also been getting lots of Braxton hicks and have started to lose my plug. I have also had lots of loose bowels (sorry for the TMI) so it looks like things are starting to move in the right direction which is great as I really don’t want to be in hospital giving birth over Christmas.

With 3 weeks left to go I have come down with a stinking cold thanks to Logan, I’m talking snotty nose, cough and sore throat fuzzy head, the works.

That’s pretty much it for now. I will leave you with some bump pictures from over the last few weeks or so….

You have an awesome bump! Love the pictures. Glad to hear the consultant is going to let you have a go at a VBAC. I’m due in May and have asked for a VBAC too and have my fingers crossed that it is successful.
I hope the next three weeks go smoothly for you and the carpal tunnel improves really quickly xxx

Thank you. Carpel tunnel seems to be worse this week with numbness but put that down to pregnancy.
Good luck with you pregnancy and hope everything goes to plan for you
