So if you follow my blog you’ll know that last week myself and Matt announced we are expecting our second child. If you miss it you can check out the post here.
Moving forward I plan to do regular post updates with how the pregnancy is going. For this first update though I am doing the 1st Trimester as one post. purely because it is easier with the fact we had to keep quiet for so long.
So now here’s how the 1st Trimester went
When Did We Find Out?:-
We haven known that I was pregnant since we were about 5 and half weeks. A couple of months before I had missed a period and we thought that maybe I was but a few test over a week or so we definitely weren’t, I put the missed period down to stress. The next time I missed a period I didn’t think straight away that I was pregnant I just thought I’d see how things went. But I was a week late when I went to meet some friends and their kids and I noticed how out of breath I was from walking at a casual pace and I had started to feel nauseous, the next day I took a test knowing that I was pregnant, and Low and behold the test confirmed what I already knew. I did two to make sure of course.
How Did I Feel About Being Pregnant?
To be honest with this pregnancy during the 1st Trimester I didn’t really have any feelings on the matter. I wasn’t excited but I wasn’t not excited, I was anxious but I wasn’t calm. I just didn’t have any thoughts on the matter. Of course the pregnancy was planned and I’m over the moon I’m pregnant, I guess it just didn’t seem real, like it was just in my head.
What Symptoms Did I Have?
I consider myself quiet lucky on the symptom front, I’ve only really had exhaustion and Nausea. Although the nausea this time round was a lot worse than when I had Logan. But luckily I haven’t been sick.
I have had some aversions but nothing regular or consistent. For example I have an aversion to some chocolate but not all chocolate. In my opinion it is a crime for a Pregnant woman to feel sick from chocolate.
I also suffered from a few bad headaches with I still suffer from, but if it means the baby is growing strong and healthy then I will take what’s thrown at me.
Also I haven’t been massively hungry. With Logan I was always hungry but this time I’m not so much. I’m putting it down to the fact that my nausea has been worse this time.
Have I Started Showing Yet?
We had to wait till I was 13 weeks and 4 days pregnant to have our scan and tell everyone. This drove me up the wall as I have shown since I was 6 weeks pregnant.
So as you can see there is a big difference and I am already showing quite a bit. Now imagine trying to hide that from everyone. There is only so much I can suck my tummy in and it makes a difference. Now I know that I am showing so much so early for a couple of reason’s:- my tummy muscles are rubbish and I was still overweight a bit and secondly It’s my second baby.
So there you have it. There’s not really much more that I can tell with the 1st Trimester as it has been fairly straight forward and really much to tell.
Hopefully I will have more to tell at the next update, I’ve not decided yet whether it will be a weekly/fortnightly/monthly update, will just have to wait and see what happens.
