As the New Year quickly approaches I find myself reflecting on this last year and what it has held and what 2016 might hold for myself and my family.
Now you should know that Matt and I never really do anything to celebrate the arrival of the New year. We quite often have a quiet night in where we see in the New Year and then head off to bed at about 5 past midnight. (we’re such as rock ‘n’ roll couple). But these last few days I keep finding myself reflecting on everything that has happened or not happened, the good, the bad and the indifferent.
One thing that strikes the most when I look back on this year and in a way it’s a little bit sad but I realise that I haven’t really done a whole lot with the year, it kinda feels like I have wasted the year. Don’t get me wrong there have been some really good and fun times……
The first main thing was that I started this blog back around June. It has been a great adventure that is still going, I have made some great friends within the Blogging community. (You know Who you are). It has also been something for me to do as a hobby something for me to enjoy. I’m still finding my feet and my blog has a long way to go and I’m excited for what that holds. I’d like to make 2016 a fantastic year for my blog what ever that may be.
June also saw my Baby Boy Logan turn 1! How crazy is that, it doesn’t seem that long ago since I was pregnant and full of excitement and now I’m full of excitement and sleep deprived, but I wouldn’t swap it for the world. Watching Logan grow into this little person and watching his strong personality develop each day is amazing and I honestly can not believe that in 6 months time he will be 2!.
2015 has been a great year for my step daughter who I am incredibly proud of. The year saw her become British Champion for her age group in trampolining as well as wining lot of other competitions. Through out the year we have travelled to various places for her competitions and there is a lot of waiting around and being bored and having a toddler bored, tired and throwing tantrums but when she gets the recognition she deserves for all her hard work I can’t help but be beyond proud. Just thinking about it now brings a lump to my throat.
We had a fantastic day trip up to Poole’s Cavern in the summer holidays despite the weather being rubbish and a long drive in the car with a 1-year-old we had so much fun. I can’t wait for more holidays like it especially as Logan gets older and can really get involved and run around more.
It has also been a year where I really made an effort to get healthy, granted it didn’t pan out so well towards the end of the year but I was able to recognise that and make changes and I’m slowly building on that. Anyway who ever said success went in a straight line. I really hope that 2016 will see the healthy lifestyle I’m pushing for.
The end of the year has also seen my
baby boy little boy move into a toddler bed. He has done so well with it. Since we got it in Oct/Nov he has only fell out of it once and that was one night the other day. It hasn’t all been plain sailing but he’s much better now and definitely has a routine.
And of course there was Christmas. His first where he is more aware of the Tree and decorations, Last year he was still to young to care. But this year there was so much more of an interest and I really look forward to next year when He’ll be aware of Santa and having his 1st trip to see Santa. That for me will make my christmas.
So here we are tomorrow is New Years Eve……Do I have any New year’s Resolutions? NO is the answer I never keep them so I don’t make them. But I would like to have some Goals for 2016 and here they are:-
- Become healthy for myself and my family, to make the change.
- work more on Clicks & Giggles and take it to the next level.
- Look after myself more, stop thinking I don’t matter.
- Learn to Bake
These aren’t resolutions their goals that I would like to achieve so that at the end of 2016 I can say I achieved something whether it’s with the Blog or on a personal level.
