Hello and welcome back for Jelly Belly To Yummy Mummy.

 

So in my last post I had said that I had a pretty bad week with food etc, if you missed it you can read it here, and as a result I gave myself some goals which are as follows:-

  1. Make better food choices….Ban Chocolate and takeaways until food choices have improved
  2. Get in 2 strength training sessions this week….NO EXCUSES
  3. Drink MORE Water

I will tell you now it went from bad to worse I am so cross with myself because I’ve made some seriously crap food choices despite wanting to lose the weight, I seem to sabotage my effects with eating crap!

So my figures….Lets get this out of the way:-

My weight hasn’t changed I’m still at 11st 12lbs. It’s frustrating to think that with running 3 times a week, and if I had been eating more healthy food and drinking more water that I would have probably lost some weight. Not maintained. How I haven’t gained weight is beyond me.

My measurements haven’t changed either.

Last Week:-

Thighs:- 22 Inches

Hips:- 41 Inches

Waist:- 33 Inches

Arms:- 12 Inches

This Week:-

Thighs:- 22 Inches

Hips:- 41 Inches

Waist:- 33 Inches

Arms:- 12 Inches

Now my runs have been tough lately to the point where I quit my run yesterday half way through, I just couldn’t go any further and felt like I had hit a wall and wanted to cry as a result I ended up walking back home. I was so angry with myself I felt like I had let myself down so much. I had come this far, I had been running for 7 weeks and I gave up just like that. I let my mind win the battle over my body.

However with that said today I was determined to beat that run so I did yesterday’s run in the pouring rain this morning. I was completely soaked through to the bone. But it was completely worth it I felt like I had redeemed myself. I also got my best time for min/km, It’s amazing what the rain can do for motivation.

So even though in all it has been a really crap week for me my pace has been improving even when I feel like it isn’t or I’ve run slower it’s getting better

As you can see with the exception of Wednesday my average pace is getting quicker.

So after a bad week I have to look at how I can move forward with my diet. Maybe trying to cut out the crap cold turkey isn’t the way to go because it’s just not been working obviously, so maybe I look at cutting down and having the treats in moderation until I can faze them out altogether. Hopefully this will be more successful.

So my goals for this week:-

  1. No more Takeaways for the rest of the week
  2. Drink more water
  3. Say no to cake!

Oh on another note my hubby today bought me a waterproof Running Jacket for those runs I end up doing in the rain to try to help keep part of my dry.

When I got home today I looked like I had stepped straight out of the shower. My arms, legs and torso were red from the blood coming to the surface from the cold rain. What does every one else wear when the weather is rubbish? Get in touch via the comments or via Twitter and Facebook.

    I think it takes time for the running to work. I wouldn’t beat yourself up about things not going well either. Sometimes things don’t go well, that’s that.

    I think it’s not a good idea to cut things out completely, you just end up craving them. I tend to cut down, limiting the calories I’m allowed for chocolate or sweets. It seems to work okay.

      thanks for the support last week I ended up having to stop running altogther because I seem to have developed shin splints anoyingly and rather painfully. Well I hope that is all it is, so I’m listening to my body and taking a break to let my shin splints heal

    Well done on conquering that run! It is hard to stop eating crap, sometimes your body wants sugar. It’s about eating a little not a whole cake. You’ll definitely need that waterproof as the weather starts to turn autumnal, I have a lightweight purple one that I wear that is great.
