Jelly Belly To Yummy Mummy #6

Hello and welcome back for Jelly Belly To Yummy Mummy. This last week has been completely different from my last post in terms of exercise and food.

You’ll remember me saying last week that I was fed up posting about struggling with my diet. If you didn’t see it check it out here. Well since my last Jelly Belly To Yummy Mummy post I have been a lot better with my food, the hubs and I have made more of an effort to cook more at home and to eat smaller portions with I have been doing and, I have noticed the difference I do get fuller quicker while eating and I’ve been eating when I start to feel hungry rather than eating for the sake of it. We did have a couple of naughty treats over the weekend mainly because we were out for most of the day in Milton Keynes, where we did quite a bit of walking around the shopping centre and around Ikea.

Exercise wise this last week I have only really done my 3 runs mainly because Logan has been teething a lot and not sleeping great which has left me feeling knackered….Yes I know this is an excuse but it’s the one I’m giving. Like I said before we did do a lot of walking round Milton Keynes so I guess that could count.

IMG_1034If you follow me on Twitter on Instagram or anything you may have already seen this picture….This was taken on Sunday once I had completed my very 1st 20 minute run without stopping. As I had said in my last post I wasn’t looking forward to this run at all and if I’m honest I wasn’t entirely convinced in myself to do it. But I surprised myself so much that once I had completed it, I felt amazing, I felt like I should have been doing the scene from one of the rocky films where he reaches the statue at the top of the stairs and he is jumping around with his arm’s in the air. You know the scene I mean, yeah that. Don’t worry I didn’t do that not on the outside anyway.

For me this was a huge achievement because never did I think I would ever be able to run for that long. Now don’t get me wrong, I ran it but I was slow mainly because my stamina isn’t fully there yet and I needed to pace myself.

It was also a run that I very much need after feeling a little down in the dumps the night before I needed the time to clear my head and re-group if you like.

IMG_1005This was taken post run…. Don’t you just love the red face? This is what give’s me such a lovely glow later in the day. You can’t see it but I have a nice layer of sweat over my body.

I almost forgot this last week also saw my run on Friday just gone the 1st run where it rained and what was annoying was that when I went out it was dry and then 5 minutes in, it rained. But I have to say I did enjoy the rain it made the run quite comfortable heat wise and very refreshing.

So on to the figure’s weight wise there has been no change but measurement wise there has been. So let’s take a look

Last Week:-

Thighs:- 24 Inches

Hips:- 42 Inches

Waist:- 34 Inches

Arms:- 13 Inches

This Week:-

Thighs:- 22 Inches

Hips:- 41 Inches

Waist:- 33 Inches

Arms:- 12 Inches

As you can see it’s looking pretty good, some loss all over a little more on my thighs than everywhere else but I’m guessing that is normal with running given that I’m using my legs, and I could feel my runs in my legs in a burning achy sense, it was quite nice really.

So this week again the focus will be to improve on the diet, it’s definitely getting there that’s for sure. And after not doing anything but the running last week I would like to try to get some strength training in either with just body weight or with the kettlebell.

I’d love to hear how you are all getting on so please get in touch via the comments below or on Twitter or Facebook .

As always thank you for reading and until next time

Wow, great achievements so far. Very very inspired with your efforts. My health kick isn’t going so well after three nights of no sleep due to teething little one. Consequently back to relying on caffeine and sugar to stay awake. Also using it as an excuse not to go running – naughty! After reading your post I’m going to have a word with myself and get out today #FitnessFriday xx

I feel your pain, My 15 month old it cureently teething quite badly this week so have also had a lot of sleep deprivation, I’ve had to force myself to go running just because if I don’t it’s a slippery slope to quitting and I know I’ll feel even worse if I don’t go for a run.
I find the hardest step is getting out the door once your out the door the rest will just come naturally, well it does for me.

Aw thank you so much. I have really struggled this week with lack of sleep, and a 15 month old teething and throwing tantrums. It’s been a hard week or two so I was pleased to have inch loss and to have completed the 20 minute run. Sunday see’s the 1st 25 minute run, I hope I get some sleep by then.

It look’s like you’ve done great this week. Running is great for getting the endorphines and making you feel good. It’s good to mix it in with strength exercises too, I’ve been thinking about kettlebell so be interested to see how you get on with that. Thanks for linking up with #FitnessFriday
