Jelly Belly To Yummy Mummy #13

Hello and welcome back for Jelly Belly To Yummy Mummy.

So if you follow my Jelly Belly To Yummy Mummy post’s regularly you will know that last week I didn’t put up a post, the reason for this is because it had been a tough week with Logan teething, I had my birthday on the 3rd and the hubby was away for a conference from the Thursday and didn’t get back until the Saturday.

So exercise just didn’t happen at all, I didn’t even make an attempt to fit a work out in, I did however focus on what I ate. Now I’m not going to lie there was quite a lot of naughty treats going on but for actual meals they were pretty good.

So as you can see there has been an improvement. I have lost a lb and I have lost an inch of both my hips and waist. I have felt so bloated lately that it was uncomfortable, it was always after I had some bread and it didn’t matter if it was white or brown I just felt bloated. So this last week I haven’t had any bread except a bit of garlic bread with dinner yesterday. But on the whole I cut out bread and I have swapped it for rivita.

One thing that has been playing on my mind is that I’m struggling to get up early enough in the morning’s to work out because of it being dark. But I would leave the house at 7am to go run so really I just need to remind myself that as long as I am ready to work out by 7 I can still do a 30 minute work out without making my hubby late for work. So why do I feel like I can’t fit it in or can’t get up early enough?

It’s not even winter yet and I already feel like I have the winter blues. I miss working out regularly and have noticed that it is having a huge effect on my mental well-being in terms of how I see myself and what I think of myself.

Yesterday we took the kids down to our local country park as we bought Logan his 1st little football as he started to show an interest in kicking balls about.

He absolutely loved running around on the field with daddy helping him kick the ball to myself and Lexi. This was followed by a walk to one of the play areas within the country park. Again we had lots of giggles with him on the swing.

This little trip out got me thinking about my exercise and running and to be honest I’m quite nervous about running again incase I get shin splints again, which I definitely don’t want to get again as they were incredibly painful. So I have been thinking about maybe doing a bit of biking to start with to help build up my leg muscles and combing that with some weight training.

I am hoping to fit in a work out tonight while the hubby plays on the Playstation. I just need to get out of this funk.

I’d like to say thank you for being patient with me on this journey, as the saying goes success is never a straight line.

As always thank you for reading and until next time.

Sam.

It’s sooo dark and cold in the mornings. I left hubby and little one in bed today and they only woke up at 7.20, 20 mins before I returned. It sounds like not a bad week, especially if you lost a pound so always good. Well done with the food side. The motivation I always have for morning exercise is it’s done and over with and I can enjoy the day. Would rather chill in the dark, cold evenings and drag myself up. It usually works once or twice a week!!! Good luck xxx #bloggingtojogging

Yeah I’d rather workout in the morning it’s just trying to drag myself out of the comfort of my warm bed that’s hard. Crikey you must’ve been up early if they got up just before you came home. Yeah I’m pleased with the lb loss espically as I didn’t workout show’s I’m doing something right and it’s going in the right direction and cutting out the bread was clearly the right direction, maybe I should try rye bread so not just having ryvita all the time.

I’ve just read this blog so I do not know all of the history. Do you ever do workouts in the house? Via YouTube or other video?

    1. Sam says:

Hi Brittany, Yeah I have plenty of Fitness Dvd’s and such to do at home I’ve just been struggling overall to get motivated after having Shin Splints. However today I did do a workout despite not really wanting to, I did make myself do it. Thanks for commenting.

It’s never a straightforward and easy road when you have aa target and the dark mornings are absolute sods! I’ve been struggling just to get out of bed never mind run! I think it’s a good idea to build your legs up, no need to rush and injure yourself again xx
