Jelly Belly To Yummy Mummy #11

Hello and welcome back for Jelly Belly To Yummy Mummy.

So if you have been following my Jelly Belly To Yummy Mummy post’s you will know that I have had to take a break from running due to shin splints, if you haven’t had a chance to read it yet don’t forget to check out last week’s post.

While taking my break from running I’ve been struggling with food and wanting to work out, I’ve felt motivated but the temptation has been too great.

Current weight:- 11 st 13 lbs

Current measurements:-

Thighs:- 23 Inches

Hips:- 43 Inches

Waist:- 35 Inches

Arms:- 13 Inches

Now I not going to do a detailed full comparison to the last time I took my measurements and weight but I know I have gained bout 1 lb and have definitely gained a couple of Inches. The inches may be because I feel incredibly bloated tonight, which is totally my own fault…Fish and chips for dinner followed by half a box of celebrations chocolate while watching Bake Off. Boy am I regretting that.

It’s not all bad though, because yesterday I decided before having some me time in the bath last night I decided to get off my butt and work out. Me being me I didn’t ease into it either I went straight in with Level 1 on Jillian Michaels 30 day shred.

One thing I loved about the 30 day shred workout dvd is that you feel like your dying for 20 minutes but when you get to the end you feel amazing but knackered, amazing but completely achy, amazing but shaking. It really pushes you, well it pushes me anyway.

I wanted to do this as my 1st workout after taking a break just to see how my legs went and they were fine except for when I had to do butt kicks and then I started to feel some discomfort in my shins. So I’m not convinced I should go for a run just yet.

I was expecting to wake up today feeling sore and achy but I didn’t and thought it must be down to the Radox muscle bath soak last night, However this evening I am started to feel achy and sore, I like the feeling, it lets me know I’ve worked my body, that I have pushed myself. Now I think the soreness may have something to do with the fact that this morning the hubby dropped me into town as I needed to pick up a birthday present ready for a party at the weekend and because it was so nice this morning I decided to walk home from town. I didn’t track the distance but it’s about 3-4 miles, it took me about an hour and a half. So this evening I feel utterly exhausted I feel like I will sleep well tonight, assuming the boy sleeps through again tonight *crosses fingers.

Didn't get time to have my morning coffee at home to takeaway hazlenut latte from Costa it was (I was good and got a small)

Walking along the rowing lake is just so beautiful

Now I’m hoping that the way I feel this evening is enough to make me rethink what I eat, one thing I have noticed though is I am definitely eating less and getting fuller quicker, and I have been making a real effort to eat my food slower and take my time. Before I would just wolf food down so I would eat really big portions before realising I was full.

So what’s the plan moving forward?

  • Getting back into a routine of working out in the morning and to mix things up a bit to help my body and to keep it guessing.
  • Up my water in take and reduce caffeine in take.
  • More fruit and veg, less processed food.
  • Get out in the fresh air more with the boy.

This stuff isn’t a “I’ve got to do all this at once” they are changes I want to make and to stick, so I’m going to take it once step at a time. Having a break has helped me refocus and to help me see the difference working out has on my body and not just in the weight loss sense. I’ve noticed how bad my skin has been lately and how dull the skin has been looking since I haven’t been running I never really noticed it until I was working out regularly and then stopped. If you look at my before picture you can just about see the spots/remains of spots that I have had.

I really want to make a change and I feel like I can make that change if I’m committed enough and with all of your support. The support I have received so far on this journey has been amazing, even while taking a break people’s support has really touched me and I just want to say Thank you so much I really do appreciate it.

If you would like to get in touch please leave a comment I will reply to everyone or you can get in touch via Social Media.

So again Thank you so much for your support and for reading and until next time.

Sam.

Ouch shin splints are awful! I stopped running because of them but have just invested in a bike so I can still get out. Well done on the workout! x #WeightlossWednesday

Yeah they were so painful espically in my right shin, I’m actually nervous about trying a run out, but I guess if it comes back I can bike and then the hubs and the boy can come with me more.

The Shred is absolutely awesome, one of my favourite work out DVD’s – you don’t do things by halves when you should be taking it easy hey? Shin splints are not nice, you make sure you are taking it easy so you can get back out running soon! Hope you are having a fabulous week, thank you for linking up with #WeightLossWednesday and hope you can join in this week! Sim x
